Can Students afford to Holiday in style?

There is a general misconception of students; they are poor, they party too hard and that the only time that they can afford anything is when they can dip their hands into their parent’s bank account. This is not always true. Regardless of what people think, being a student is hard work! As ironic as it sounds students will party 4 nights a week (2 of these will be because of peer pressure), and students will pull ‘all-nighters’ in the library, not returning to bed till 6am – believe it or not this is tiring.

As soon as May draws closer, Students work harder to achieve the results they need, and after this they break up for summer. Why shouldn’t they make use of the 3 months off they have? Why don’t they travel?

We all know that Students will be on a budget, but cheap flights combined with cheap accommodation can take you literally anywhere…

Students party all the time, so here are a few holiday destinations which can give you a break away from the clubs and a break from the books:

Camp America

Camp America is a working and exciting experience. Participants at Camp America will work directly with American children. Activities range from Jewellery making to Yoga and Mountain Biking to Scuba Diving. At Camp America anything is possible. The brilliant thing about Camp America is that you are able to travel after your camp experience. Working through your summer holiday off might not sound like the right plan, but this work is fun.

Go Exploring

The world is full of fascinating places; grab your passport and your wallet and head for a vacation experience that you will never forget. Encompass history, adventure and beautiful scenery. There are many tours available various places, such as Morocco. Popular tours can be found at WheelsAcrossMorocco.com where you can combine activities, relaxation and culture.

Go all out

Have you ever thought about travelling to each country in Europe through your summer holiday? InterRail passes are possibly the most budget friendly way of getting around, where you can simply hop on and hop off a train whether it is in Germany, Sweden, Italy, Romania or Poland.  The InterRail is a great way of making the most of your time and your money.

How about a Festival?

There are festivals all over the world, not just in your own country. Spain holds Benicassim in the July month (why not head to their fan page?), bands who have played previously include Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and Bob Dylan. Croatia holds Hideout Festival which combines DJ sets and Pool Parties – Festivals are a fantastic way to have fun with friends – especially if you take plenty of aspirin.

… So there it is, plenty of ways which students can enjoy their summer holidays. They can spend it working, exploring and touring, sightseeing or dancing. No matter what, I’m sure it will beat a summer at home with the parents.
